The mist is really nice, you can actually see the difference in skin texture/bounce immediately.
Emily Algar, RUSSH Beauty Editor
This is the first product Iâve ever used from New Zealand brand Raaie, and itâs definitely not the last, I am obsessed. Described as a ânext-generation essence-toner hybridâ, ultra-fine mist gave my skin an instant smack of hydration that was long-lasting and visibly brightening.
FAQ
Built on Circadian Skin Scienceâ˘, RAESO is founded on a simple yet overlooked truth: skin is not static, it operates on a 24-hour rhyhtm - defending by day, repairing by night. When skincare works in sync with this cycle, results accelerate, resilience strengthens, and skin performs at its highest potential.
RAESO blends Ra (sun) and esĹ (within), capturing the brandâs core philosophy: skincare that works in harmony with the bodyâs internal rhythm for improved efficacy.
The name is deeply rooted in dual meaning. Ra refers to the ancient Egyptian solar deity, while RÄ also means âsunâ in te reo MÄori, grounding the brand in both global mythology and our New Zealand origins.
RAESO was inspired by the complex relationship we have with the sun.
The sun is a life-giving force. It supports our mood, strengthens our immune system, benefits gut health, and regulates melatonin,o ur sleep cycle, which in turn plays a critical role in skin repair and regeneration.
Yet, this same force is also the leading cause of premature skin ageing. In fact, up to 80% of visible ageing is attributed to sun exposure.
In New Zealand, this impact is even more pronounced due to our uniquely harsh UV environment, intensified by the thinning ozone layer. Research highlighted by Australian dermatologist Dr Greg Goodman shows that women in the Southern Hemisphere can experience signs of ageing, such as wrinkles and sagging, up to 20 years earlier than those in the Northern Hemisphere.
Sun damage accelerates visible ageing, contributing to wrinkles, rough and dull skin, pigmentation, broken capillaries, and loss of firmness.
RAESO exists to navigate this contradiction, harnessing the benefits of the sun while protecting against its damage, through formulations that work with the skinâs natural biological rhythms.
RAESO is built on a fundamentally different approach to skincare - one that works with your skin, not against it.
Our formulations are designed to align with the skinâs natural Circadian rhythm, supporting protection during the day and repair at night. This allows active ingredients to be delivered when the skin is most receptive, improving results while reducing the risk of irritation.
Rather than chasing trends, RAESO focuses on biological timing, ingredient synergy, and long-term skin health.
Your skin behaves very differently across a 24-hour cycle.
During the day, it is in defence mode, protecting against UV exposure, pollution, and oxidative stress. At night, it shifts into repair mode, focusing on regeneration and renewal.
Using the right ingredients at the right time allows you to support these natural processes, maximising efficacy without overloading the skin.
RAESO was founded on the understanding that the sun is both essential, and damaging.
Sunlight supports mood, immunity, and sleep regulation, all of which impact skin health. But it is also responsible for up to 80% of visible ageing.
Our approach is not to avoid the sun entirely, but to help your skin better manage its effects, through daily protection, targeted repair, and formulations that strengthen the skin over time.
UV radiation causes skin to age in several ways. It causes stem cells to die off, leading to thinning and wrinkling of the skin. It also activates enzymes called matrix metalloproteinases (or MMPs for short) which break down collagen.
Yes. No. It depends... The honest (and boring) answer is that it doesnât exactly help your skin (dehydration, puffiness, dark circles, etc etc.)
Protect in the morning and repair at night.
Protect using Morning Dew Vitamin C Serum and Sun Milk Drops SPF50 sunscreen.
Repair using Yellow Moonbeam Retinal Elixir and Lunar Veil Chrono-Active Sleep Mask to reverse sun damage, reduce wrinkles, smooth out skin tone and boost radiance.
